Medical Subject Headings (MeSH). Tesaurus (ämnesordsregister) som används vid indexering i många medicinska databaser, t.ex. Medline. MeSH innehåller termer som kallas ”descriptors” som är hierarkiskt uppbyggda och som tillåter sökning i olika nivåer. MeSH-termerna är ordnade både alfabetiskt och hierarkiskt. På den lägsta nivån i hierarkin är termerna väldigt allmänna. t.ex. ”Anatomy” eller ”Mental Disorders”. Mera specifika termer finns i de elva nivåer som hierarkin består av. Medical Subject Headings (MeSH). Thesaurus in great medical databases, e.g. Medline. MeSH is the National Library of Medicine's controlled vocabulary thesaurus. It consists of sets of terms naming descriptors in a hierarchical structure that permits searching at various levels of specificity. MeSH descriptors are arranged in both an alphabetic and a hierarchical structure. At the most general level of the hierarchical structure is very broad headings such as "Anatomy" or "Mental Disorders". More specific headings are found at more narrow levels of the eleven-level hierarchy.

OAPEN (Open Access Publishing in European Networks) is a collaborative initiative to develop and implement a sustainable Open Access publication model for academic books in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The OAPEN Library aims to improve the visibility and usability of high quality academic research by aggregating peer reviewed Open Access publications from across Europe.
