The British Library is the national library of the United Kingdom. The Integrated Catalogue unites a number of previously separate catalogues so that they can be searched together in one search. This will be the most appropriate option for most searches. Subsets of the Integrated Catalogue can be searched by selecting the Catalogue Subset search option. The Film Literature Index (FLI) annually indexes 150 film and television periodicals from 30 countries cover-to-cover and 200 other periodicals selectively for articles on film and television. The periodicals range from the scholarly to the popular. More than 2,000 subject headings provide detailed analysis of the articles. At the most general level of the hierarchical structure is very broad headings such as "Anatomy" or "Mental Disorders". More specific headings are found at more narrow levels of the eleven-level hierarchy.
